We just wanted the opportunity to tell you how much we appreciate your custom and what makes Bumblebee Cottage different from other Chilli Sauce providers.
You may not be aware, but Bumblebee Cottage ‘the business’ came about as a bit of an accident. After growing an abundance of chillies in our polytunnel one year, we thought to have the surplus made up into professionally made and manufactured sauces. We started with just 400 bottles, and we really thought we’d struggle to sell these but within 2 months, these had all sold.
We then had further batches made and then introduced a BBQ sauce range which did amazingly well too. By the end of the first year we had sold nearly 2000 bottles.
We think that part of the reason for the success of the sauces and the business as a whole is because as owners, Debbie and I put our faces out there. We are now regulars at Launceston Farmers Market in Cornwall, we deliver all of our products in person to our stockists, and we attend as many shows, Christmas fairs etc as we possibly can where we explain our concept of growing chillies. That concept being that all our sauces have chillies from our polytunnel in them which we ourselves have planted and then hand picked. We don’t add any artificial pesticides or fertilisers and we hand label every bottle ourselves. In fact, we even design every label ourselves through our sister company which is an established web design agency.
