Bumblebee Cottage is our home and passion, located a stones throw from the Atlantic Ocean at Delabole, in North Cornwall. This website shares our experiences of renovating, growing and cooking, mainly outdoors, on or in our Konro, Kamado, Asado, Tandoor and Roccbox equipment.

We’ve owned our Cottage, built from stone from the World famous quarry a few hundred metres away since 2014 and have painstakingly restored it, inside and out after it, and the grounds, laid dormant for over a decade. In 2021 we were lucky enough to purchase over an acre of land directly behind the Cottage.

Having restored ancient walls, and removed miles of barbed wire, undergrowth and introduced a variety of rare Cornish indigenous Apple trees, some of which we have grafted ourselves, we now spend most of our free time, including every weekend and holiday tending to ‘the orchard’ where, along with the apples, we grow an abundance of Chillies in our polytunnel. We don’t use any artificial chemicals inc pesticides on the land.

In 2023 we started to have our polytunnel grown chillies made up into a variety of chilli and BBQ Ketchup style sauces. Each sauce has been specifically designed by us, and every bottle contains our chillies, plus, where possible, other local Cornish ingredients too (Honey and local Whisky are in some of our BBQ sauces for example).

Since the Summer of 2024 we have been regulars at the Launceston Farmers market at the Cornish and Devonshire border town. We currently attend this market and sell our full range of sauces and other products, twice a month. But we also attend various other local open days, demonstrations and fairs etc. Our next event is to the right.
